Hero Academy Review

In my opinion, Hero Academy is one of the reasons why mobile gaming is so popular for casual gamers. HA is a turn based strategy game that allows you to play at your own leisure against other players and take turns battling each other in what I call “play passing”. Much like words with friends or email chess, you can make a move and submit it to your opponent which they will receive as an update on their mobile device allowing them to make their turn and submit back. For me, this fits into my casual niche quite nice and I’m very content in playing at my own pace and time whenever I have a free 30 seconds. (more…)

Netflix Changes Name, Rents Video Games!

Netflix will be separating their movie-streaming service and their mail service. The movie-streaming will still be called Netflix, while the mail service will be named Qwikster. In addition to changing the name, Qwikster will rent video games out. Read All About it

Here’s hoping Qwikster game rentals will have as quick of a turnaround time as Netflix, unlike a certain other game rental service.


DC Universe Online to be Free to Play

DCUO will be free to play starting in October of this year. Players will be able to sign up for free and seemingly be able to most things in the game, but they will be limited to 2 characters slots.

Former subscribers will get an additional slot. And, players will be able to subscribe for 14.99 USD. Subscribers will have 15 character slots and get DLC for free(?) and more! Read more about it here.

League of Legends Riven Patch Notes

The new Riven Patch Notes for LoL are up here.
In this patch, new probable overpowered champ, Riven, and many minor changes to other characters. The largest change in this patch will be Taric’s ultimate no longer healing and instead being an AOE with a longer cooldown. (more…)
